Yeah, that's right, I've simply been too busy to update! I haven't even tried to develop a new pattern, sheesh. I've been working at the 9-5 and whipping up Christmas gifts galore. Several of which I wish I'd have thought of making for my self. They came out so darn cute so far.
Mostly I've been trying to use up left over skeins because my mom is sending my her scrap material along with my daughters birthday presents. Oh, my goodness, my daughter is almost one. I can't even say that out loud without tearing up about it. How'd it happen? Where'd the time go? She was so small and new and beautiful just MONTHS ago. Now, 12 of them later, she's her own little person. She loves to share, dance, chase the cats, share with the cats, play in Mommy's scrap yarn. (I'm starting her early :)) Now look. As every parent does, I tried so hard to hold on. But, no matter how tight you hold, or how many hours you spend staring mesmorized and memorizing each little thing, it all happens so fast.
Here and I've gone way off topic, let's bring it back. Where was I? Ah, yes. Utilizing quarter skeins and less. Good thing many of my friends are bringing babies into this world after Christmas, and baby beanies take up just enough material to finish a skein with style.
Well, off I go, on another hook-a-plooza and make a few more gifts so I can take custom requests for other folks' gifts. I hope every one has a blessed and wonderful day, Happy Hooking!

Fiddle Sticks
Well, I've gotten pretty much nothing done in the last two days. I burnt two fingers, so crocheting is uncomfortable. I also had to pull out a gajillion rows on a project because I noticed a funky stitch much too late. Oi. One unhappy hooker today. Tomorrow, I'm jumping back in with both feet. I've decided to start Christmas presents earlier this year. One down, and a bazillion left to do. Good thing most presents will e sent to the ee ones of the family, lol. Smaller heads, feet, and bodies make for faster projects! I also have an awesome idea for two family members, which I can clearly not disclose as yet. But I'm super excited to work it out.
Another small frustration: I spilled a whole cup of coffee on a work in progress and all four of it's skeins! Gah! Rinsed everything, and is now laying out to dry. Hope the sun will do the trick and revive the material. Well, as I said, back on the horse tomorrow until the 9-5. Hope it goes by fast.
Happy hoking!

Work, Work, Work.
Hello every one!
This would be the second time I'm writing this blog, eeg as how my daughter hit just one key on the board and everything went poof. Fiddle sticks.
Round 2!
GO!
I wish I could crochet all day. But alas, after a hectic work schedule, my house as gone to pieces. You'd think SOME ONE ELSE vacuuming or dusting would would be an overexertion and simply too much to ask. Yikes. But...
I'm so proud of my work! I spent at least two hours writing and experimenting with a Santa hat for the be-a-utiful Miss Tara from TwoForTea Photography to no avail. I just could not get the shape I was looking for! Well, I then started on a search for pattern and one to a Pixie Hat! This crochet artist is simply amazing! Not only is her work amazing, but she is a wonderful teacher in our fine art. So, I just supplemented with red and white, changed the trim to suit me, and viola! A master piece. I definitely enjoyed myself.
No rest for the weary though, Tara's at it again! She's requested a felted project, of which I have no experience. I've always wanted to give it a go, so this sounds like a perfect opportunity to add to my repertoire of crafting skills. This project also calls for a small portion of burlap and fabric stiffener. I have idea where to get fabric stiffener. Suggestions? I suppose I'll make a Watlmart trip today and see what I can dig up. If not, there's always Micheal's! (There's one opening up only one block from my house! I'm so excited!

Le SiGh
Well, Hiya!
This little hooker is plum pooped. I've not even touched my magic wands today, either! I've just been typing away for my new patterns I posted on Zilla By Design Patterns. I got The Anna Flower done and The Patriotic Charger Cover done. It sounds like just typing. But in reality, I have an almost one year old daughter. And as every mommy knows, they get into EVERYTHING! And as I experience moments of golden silence, it only means she's gotten into something and I need to investigate. Therefore, There is a monkey constantly on my back... and chair, and couch, and key board, and mouse, and a random hanger... Chyeah. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Rather unfortunately, I do have a real job, and I'm scheduled today. Like any other job place, you'll always have those incompetent and whiny people, over-bearing boss, and generally angry people. I usually come onto my job site in a wonderful mood, and then.. the inevitable happens. Guests and employees shoot down my upbeat attitude by the time I go to clock out. Oh, well. I'm grateful that I have a job where so many others struggle to find employment.
I'm also still considering posting my fast dinner recipes in a new blog. I use the term "recipe" rather loosely. There isn't a thing resembling gourmet in my cooking most times. I most times simply don't have the time to prepare anything too complicate. But I suppose that's the point. I can get pretty tasty food on the table in about twenty minutes and for cheap. I'll keep it rolling around my noggin until I can make a decision.
For now, I'm off to crochet up a requested Santa hat for a family photo shoot. Once I get the materials approved by the requester, I may post he pattern once I'm done. Hope every one has an amazing day, and as always, happy hooking!

Phew!
What an intense day of crochet it was yesterday! Tara from TwoForTea Photography requested two head bands for a photo shoot with some gorgeous soon-to-be 3 month old twins. I used two of my "Sophia Flowers" on a lacy scallop band. They came out so wonderfully that I want to make daughter one! Rather unfortunately, my wee lassie does not like bows, pony tails, piggy tails, or anything in her hair. Much to my utter disappointment. Well, we can't win them all, can we?
So of course, I had to write out the pattern and share it. It sounds easy when I say it that way. But me (The techno-tarded one of lameness) had a hard time with it. Sending the photos from my phone to my e-mail, saving them from my e-mail to the computer, and uploading the photos from the computer to photobucket is not easy. Writing the pattern seemed to be the easiest part.
I'm still working on my bobble granny square which will be a blanket. Or a photo prop. Or rug. The possibilities are endless with this thing.
Later on tonight, I believe I'll be experimenting with Christmas patterns. Yes, I said it, CHRISTMAS. Not "Winter Holidays". What ever religion you are, if you celebrate your "Winter Holiday", please call it by it's appropriate name. Rejoice in our differences and celebrate them together. Any who, the season will be coming up soon, and it's best to be prepared than swamped. Hope every has an amazing day, and of course, happy hooking.

Me? My Own Blog? Shut The Front Door!
Well, Hiya Every One!
Here goes my new blog! This is so exciting! I have a million and one great ideas, patterns, and projects that I cant wait to share with the world! Today has been rather fruitful for me. I finished whipping up a scarf using simple blhdc flhdc variation for my Daddy who just recently sent me a new set of amazing hooks. Now that I have a more varied set (B2 through N) I'm really enjoying myself with a million types of materials. From sparkly thread to super chunky yarn.
I'm still behind on writing this new pattern I had an idea for. Since I cant get my head around it, I'm taking my head out of it and shelving it for the time being. Frustrating, but necessary sometimes. I still have the appliques for my shelved pattern floating around in my mind, so perhaps I can still write those out with more success.
However, I have opened a whole new can of worms in the form of bobble stitches! Check out the pattern http://colourinasimplelife.blogspot.com/2012/06/granny-bobble-spiral.html! It is very simple, but I do have one recommendation. Keep your materials organized! You work with four colors simultaneously and it's very easy to get snarled up. Avoid the whole flim flam and hook hurling and pull your yarn from the center of the skeins and let the skeins stand upright in a box or bag and check it often for tangles. My daughter got a hoot out of her silly Mommy because she saw me with this bobble granny square atop my head and untangling skeins with both hands. It made sense at the time though!
Well, I hope every one enjoys my blog as much as I enjoy writing and I hope every one enjoys this great pattern I rooted out.Have an amazing day and happy hooking to you all!
